PROJECT OVERVIEW
What this effort is rebuilding
Super Mario Sunshine Native is tracked as a native runtime port. The original PlayStation 5 program runs on a modern host through a compatibility runtime that replaces platform services and translates graphics calls. It requires a legally obtained game dump, and Decomp 720 does not treat playability as a completion percentage.
READING THE SIGNAL
What the progress figure means
The tracked source reports 100% progress. That normally describes the repository’s declared code target; documentation, ports, bug fixes, tooling, and work on other regional versions may continue after that milestone.
PRESERVATION CONTEXT
Why this project is worth following
This work helps document how a PlayStation 5 title was structured and built. Following the project can expose platform-specific techniques, compiler behavior, file formats, and engine decisions that are otherwise difficult to study. The tracked project record currently identifies JavaScript as its primary language context.
QUICK ANSWERS
About Super Mario Sunshine Native
Is this an official release?
No. Decomp 720 tracks an independent community project maintained by chasem-dev. The original game and its assets remain the property of their respective rights holders.
Does the project source include the game?
Usually not. Reverse-engineering projects commonly require contributors or users to supply legally obtained game data. Check the linked project source and its own setup instructions before building anything.
How does Decomp 720 verify updates?
This page checks the linked public GitHub repository no more than once per day. It only replaces the tracked percentage when a clearly labeled, machine-readable or README progress figure is available.
