Game decompilation
Reconstructs readable source code from an original game executable so the program can be studied, rebuilt, and maintained.
ABOUT THE DIRECTORY
Decomp 720 is an independent directory for discovering and following video game decompilation, static recompilation, and native port projects across console generations.
THE PURPOSE
Reverse-engineering projects are scattered across repositories, community pages, and technical documentation. Decomp 720 brings those public signals together so visitors can find a project by game or platform, understand its approach, and continue to its source repository.
Each listing can show the target platform, project method, published completion figure, development status, programming language, contributors, repository activity, and releases. Progress is shown only when a project publishes a measurement; repository activity is never treated as a made-up completion percentage.
WHAT DECOMP 720 TRACKS
Projects use different techniques, and their percentages do not always measure the same thing.
Reconstructs readable source code from an original game executable so the program can be studied, rebuilt, and maintained.
Translates a game's original machine code ahead of time for another platform, usually with a runtime layer for system behavior.
Adapts game code or a compatible runtime so a title can run directly in a new environment instead of through a traditional emulator.
HOW LISTINGS WORK
Listings point visitors to public repositories and project documentation for first-hand details.
Published percentages keep the project's own meaning and are not presented as universal measurements.
Material listing changes can be documented in the public change log with a supporting source.
Decomp 720 is not affiliated with game publishers, console makers, repository hosts, or listed teams.
PRESERVATION, RESEARCH & ACCESS
Decomp 720 does not host ROMs, games, encryption keys, proprietary source code, or copyrighted binaries. The directory provides research context and links. Visitors should read each project's documentation and supply any legally required original game data themselves.
